OTW @ Vanier Frosh

On Wednesday September 3rd, three members of our company, Alex Fairlie, Emily Powell, and Justin Buyukozer and two members of the Vanier Improv Company performed for Vanier Frosh during York University's Frosh Week.

The performance venue was outside of the Vanier Residence, where the memorial of Vanier College Productions' producer posthumous, Nancy Accinelli, stands. As alumni of The Vanier Improv Company, Fairlie, Powell and Buyukozer, expressed that the opportunity to perform with the company that inspired the inception of Only the Weak was a delightful experience.

The show was entirely improv based, featuring popular games such as Double Scene, Sound Effects, Scenes from a Hat, Dating Game, Sentences, Questions and Statues, organized and expertly executed by Sara D'Agostino, the new Assistant Director of VIC.

Approximately 100 Frosh and Frosh Bosses were in attendance at the event and the five performers had the audience in stitches the entire run of the 45 minute show.

A highlight of the night was the dating game; the three "bachelors" were Barak Obama (portrayed fairly accurately by Fairlie), Jesus Christ, portrayed by Powell, and a Stereotypical Filipino Man, portrayed by VIC member Daniel, which resulted in numerous political and world issues one-liners.

Only the Weak had a fantastic time at Vanier College Frosh, and many thanks to Brian Goldenberg for inviting us to take part. Congratulations to all who participated in the event!
